GC has produced successful applicants to PT school from a number of different majors—including biology, exercise science, and health science.
PT schools like to see volunteer or internship hours in physical therapy settings—and GC’s Graves Center for Calling and Career can help you find the experiences you need.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of physical therapists is projected to grow 34 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations.
In the Pre-Physical Therapy Program, you will receive individual advising customized to your career objectives, take part in credit-bearing internships and document observation hours needed for graduate school, receive professional development, and take part in interview preparation and receive physical therapy application assistance.
You should plan to apply by the end of your 1st year at GC in the spring (may apply as late as sophomore year) with a minimum 3.0 GPA at Georgetown College at the time of application. Please submit a 3-year academic plan, and provide a brief essay explaining why you want to pursue a career in physical therapy.
