Tyelar Rohman ‘21 named Scholar-Athlete of the Year

GC lacrosse player Tyelar Rohman ‘21 named IWLCA NAIA Scholar-Athlete of the YearGeorgetown College lacrosse player Tyelar Rohman ‘21 has been named IWLCA NAIA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The organization chooses one athlete from each level of collegiate athletics – NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA – with nominees being a senior or graduate student in their final year of athletic eligibility, maintaining at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average as a starter or significant reserve for their team.

Rohman, who graduated in May after majoring in finance and minoring in accounting, earned top student accolades in the finance department. She was a member of the business honors society; was on the Dean's List every semester; and received conference all-academic honors and NAIA Scholar Athlete awards every year she was eligible.

This past season as the Tigers went 5-5 overall and 4-2 inside the Mid-South Conference, Rohman, a Colorado native, had 45 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers, a top-five mark in a single-season at GC. For her career, Rohman tallied 113 ground balls and 55 caused turnovers. She earned First-Team MSC All-Conference and NAIA All-America First-Team.
