Summer Term Represents Significant Savings for Students
Submitted on April 14, 2021
Summer at Georgetown College is the perfect opportunity for students to stay on track or get ahead in their academic journey. It also allows students to focus intently on a particular subject, which can greatly benefit students in some key areas.
This summer, the College is aiming to make summer term an even greater investment for students, offering currently enrolled Georgetown undergraduate students the chance to take one course for $500. Currently, a single credit hour at the college is $485, so taking a course for $500 represents a significant savings for students looking to take advantage of summer term.
There are several course options available to students this upcoming summer, including several Foundations and Core courses, which are required for students to graduate.
“With the increased pressures caused by the intensive subsession structure this year, some students discovered that they needed to drop courses in order to maximize their chances of success in their remaining classes,” said Provost and Dean of the College Dr. Rosemary Allen. “The College wants to make sure that students have the opportunity to stay on track with earning credits they need for graduation, and this low-cost summer course can be that needed resource.”
There will be two terms this summer at the College, with the first beginning May 24 and ending on June 28 and the second term beginning July 1 and ending August 4. Students may register for summer courses from April 19 until the start of classes.
